The way Auditors and Audit Bodies work is not governed by accreditation bodies, it is governed by an ISO Standard (ISO 17021). Auditors and Audit Bodies are policed by Accreditation Bodies to ensure they carry out their work according to the ISO Standard, and if deemed by the Accreditation Bodies that this is being done to the accepted level, the Accreditation logo can be displayed by the audit body concerned.
